This post is about two cute little cars I built for two very special occasions. Both Tamiya, both in 1/24th, both OOB and both very enjoyable. I hope both of them rest somewhere nicely right now.

The kit is just sublime! Practically assembles on its own. All one needs to do is choose the colour scheme.
I chose Ivory and a dark cherry-red for the interior. Let's jump to the photos, since the construction phase doesn't have anything interesting to tell.
And a few poses on a small, simple base:
Now the second one, is his young brother: http://www.etamiya.com/shop/tamiya-24200-tamiya-volkswagen-beetle-p-5097.html
Again, I have nothing but praise for Tamiya.
This little guy troubled me a bit more. The body parts come in yellow plastic. I needed yellow under the red to make it brighter, but I also had to prime the plastic. I also had to remove the plating from the chrome parts, because it doesn't look realistic AT ALL!
Primed:
Wheels etc:
Gloss yellow undercoat:
Dual-colour interior:
